The materials manager is responsible for maintaining adequate supplies for the facility and receiving all items coming into the facility. Evaluating quality and cost of supplies and monitoring prices as needed. Oversees inventory counts. Utilizes appropriate computer systems to order supplies and maintain inventory system. Assists with accounts payable process with materials vendors.

1. Follows up on back orders and communicates issues as needed
2. Informs Administrator and Clinical Director of problem areas.
3. Maintains operating room environment.
4. Assists in set-up of specialty equipment.
5. Coordinates supplies and specialty equipment availability with OR schedule.
6. Maintains a charge system that meets the needs of surgical services.
7. Reviews / revises charge system in collaboration with clinical staff.
8. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
9. Interacts with all of the above in a considerate, helpful, and courteous manner as observed by Administrator, Clinical Director, and peers.
10. Assumes other duties as assigned.

12. Demonstrates understanding and responsibility in maintaining proper inventory levels under the principles of 'just in time' inventory practices
13. Demonstrate appropriate response to schedule changes to avoid delays in providing equipment and overstock of inventories
14. Reviews surgical schedule well in advance to anticipate supply needs
15. Reports invoice discrepancies to Administrator prior to payment
16. Tracks loaned instruments / equipment to and from the facility ensuring integrity of sets / instruments / equipment and ensuring prompt return
17. Manage equipment / instrument repairs efficiently, as needed
